just picked up some Joint Juice yesterday, hopefully it gets in my left knee by saturday since its liquid. I keep forgeting to take the big tablets and they say it takes about a month for the tabs to feel the effect.

My breathing would regulate itself, and I'd make it a point to all-out sprint the last 1/4 mile and it felt like I was flying. Of course I didn't start out that way (and unfortunately I'm not like that now) but it got to that point for me, so I'm sure you can get there as well.
I know what your talking about. been jogging just for exercise and now since my first official 5k run I now am setting a goal to see how fast I can get. my first official time last weekend was 35:30 (guess that's not bad for 255#) but I want to get into the 20's.
I think its the endorphin rush/high that is addicting especially because it really kicks in during a race. think thats the beastmode your talking about.

Endorphins and opiates act on the same receptors in the brain.

You know what's better than any drug? A 2-4 hour bike ride followed by a big schooner of beer on the patio. Euphoria.

I started to notice a difference in about a week. Use to be, if I sat at my desk with my knee bent for too long, when I stood up, I had to losten it up or I walked like a pimp for a while. Now...nothin! Let me know how the joint juice works for you. Where'd you get it? How much for how much? Taste?

Congrats on your 5K time! I don't think I cared enough about the competition part of mine...never got the "runner's high". Just ran to feel my body running. I was pretty tired though.

I used the Nike plus sensor/watch to keep me motivated. I started running about 2 yrs ago training for Border Patrol Agent. At one point I was runnning 13 miles. A 5k is really easy to do. Just get out there and run. I didn't need a trainer or program to show me how. You just gotta get out there and log those miles. It's really good for those times when you need to think things through as well. It's alot of time to yourself. I love running and until I injured my back I was planning to run a half marathon, with a goal of getting into tri's. I'm back up to 6 miles and it shouldn't take me long to get back up the 9 then 12 miles. Just get out there and run. Also have a goal/ goals. What gets me motivated are the stories I read of people running 50+ miles.

havent taken aleve but once in the last week (after 5k race on sat), I think the joint juice is helping. No aches in my joints like before. I got it at HEB, marked down to 4.47 a 6pack along with a 2.50 off coupon. just picked up 4 more today. It's where the elations and glucosamine supplements are.

just found out my TSH is still elevated again. hopefully an increase in dosage will help. might have contributed to the joint pain. still not bad considering I went from a 5k time of 35:30 on 5/7 to a 31:58 on 5/21. and thats weighing 255#

well hit my goal of getting under 30min in the 5k, got 29:48. felt like crap at mile 2. guess I shouldnt have donated blood yesterday, especially since im training for a half marathon. Kind of down on myself since I knew I could have done better but my body just didnt want to go.
