The LJ's look odd stock, when they are lifted they look much better.

Very much so, the LJ always reminds me of a bobbed CJ8

Nice looking XJ! I've always liked XJ's, primarily because they are dirt cheap and parts are so easy to find. I considered a sport XJ when I was going back into a Jeep, but the truth is a Wrangler is much more vehicle as far as flexibility. For hunting and offroading, not having doors, roof, folding windshield, soft top, all of that is very nice to have and no other vehicle on the market offers it.

The reason I'm after an LJ is increased storage room for long trips. Also, I plan on towing a small trailer when I go wheeling, and the LJ has twice the tow rating as a TJ. Lastly, an LJ has a stretched wheelbase, something that costs thousands to do to a TJ and a ton of work/ruin the jeep. It's safer for ascending/descending.

What suck is a TJ is about 3x the price of a XJ, and an LJ is 2x the price of a TJ.

What's frustrating is they are proving difficult to find. I've visited every LJ currently up for sale in the metroplex for the last two months, and that is 3 LJ's.

I can imagine, I'll be on the lookout for one for you. I think we frequent the same Jeep sites but I get bored at work often and this might give me something to do.

I appreciate it. I'll be heading to Jeep Fest at Dallas market hall tomorrow and see if I can find one for sale up there possibly.

Nope, I've been looking patiently. They pop up occasionally, but summer is usually not the best time to buy.

A friend unloaded a 2004 LJ recently for $18,500. Mild lift on 33's, otherwise unmolested and clean. They're definitely proud of those things.
