Good looking xj. I wish I would have put a carrier on my 96. I was only running 31's on a 3 " lift so I mounted a full size inside. Never understood why the 4x4 xj's came with a doughnut spare.

Ya get used to it. Mine covered a good part of the rear window, I guess didnt mind it as much cause it was off to one side.

Everyone on the wrangler forums tells me I should feel that I'm better than XJ owners.


If I didn't want to use it for the lease, I would have bought an XJ, I like the extra room, the cheap lifts, and the infinitely cheap plentiful parts. I'm about to need 35-37" tires with a quickness - let me know if you spot any good deals.

CJ if you need any parts to experiment with, I have an entire set of front and rear upper and lower control arms for a TJ you can take. I'm about to move and really dont need them.

It's a totally different climate out here, the big trend here is forerunners. I could get decent money for my 4x4 Ranger, I've seen a few with big fenders, but I'm not ready to get rid of it yet.

That having been said, how would any of these rigs do in the sand? That seems to be the primary "off-road" spot in this area, and I haven't seen any traditional 4x4's in the year and a half of being here.

It just so happens I need an upper control arm on the front passenger side. I'm interested.

I got it lifted on 35's today. Too tired to post pic, will do it shortly.

Having some pretty gnarly death wobble above 38mph. Seems like alignment and balancing are the culprit. The front is very tight, trackbar and ball joints look good.

Looks fuckin good CJ! Lol at that little spare though. Death wobble probably isnt from balancing, but typically just caster. Your pinion angle might be way off. If nothing is lose, shit can come apart in a hurry if you keep running into it. How much lift did you do and did it come with an adjustable front trackbar?

Get the right tires and they will do just fine in the sand just like any other 4x4. Snow is where these start to suck, and I mean DEEEEP snow. The live axle up front turns into a snow plow after about 2' of snow depending on the tire

I'm sure it's the caster. I have negative caster like a mofo, shopping cart all over the place. For the longest time I couldn't get anyone to explain how to adjust the caster on my year TJ, all kinds of bad info out there. The cam bolts that came with my lift were the wrong ones, 5/16 bolts that should have been 1/2". So, I had to run the stock bolts for the time being. If you have a good eye, you can even see the negative camber in the above picture, just look at the diff cover.
