I used to be on the ski team at Squaw Valley ski area when I was ten or so, and the second year I was there a snowboarder plowed into a skier at some godawful speed. It ripped the skiers thumb and nose off and popped one of his eyes out of the socket, but the snowboarder broke his neck. From then on snowboarders were frowned upon until about 5 years later.

Pretty much. In my volunteering I've been suprised, there are some good kids out there, but for the most part they suck.
