    need some emergancy dog help UPDATE 4.2!

     Hey guys, got her first check up back at the E-vet, They suggested i get a regular vet to take her to have her looked at for the week just to make sure she is healing correctly and re bandage her. Thanks again for making this possible, does anyone know how much a regular vet visit costs?

    A note from me,
    Guys I sit her in awe at the amazing thing that happened here. I made some mistakes in my life and never saved a penny. Always trying to score extra hours at work so i can hit up whiteboy for some stang parts he was selling or that extra 24 pack of bud light. Living from check to check, i truly felt stupid and ashamed that when in an emergency, such as my loved one gets hurt, that all i had was pocket lint to offer. You All have made me truly see that its not Saleen rims or pics of some naked chick that I should be focused on but the love for another person. I know out there some people are hurting and I will pay this forward. You all are my family and truly showed me and lucy love i only see in wal disney movies. I would love to see you guys all when lucy gets her running legs back , maybe some type of dog get together at a lake ? Either way, you guys have my gratitude and love.

    A little bit about myself
    My name is Jonathan Alonso, I have bad credit and 2 younger bothers (23,18). One just finished his 6 year as a marine and is back home with a serious back injury. Sadly both brothers do not talk to me anymore because of the divorce between our parents. My dog is a black lab female, who needed a home or she was to be put away. I snagged her at the chance and vowed to always take care of her (she is 2 as of last month). She never cries when she is sick , always seems to be happy when she hears me open the door. This dog never hurt anyone and even ate a wasp mid air that was behind me in the house! She ate my roush body kit 3 days after i had it painted, and there's a hole in my parents house that she caused but we forgive her.I work to pay back my school tuition at community college and aspire to join the navy.

    Update 4.1 with more AOL hours!
    Woke up just a few minutes after picking her up at 5 am. Thanks to you guys i was able to also buy some extra padding for her bed and doggy treats. She is still not eating but that's to be expected. Now it is all up to GOD for the healing. The Dr explained that since she did have a chip in her bone, that she could very well get a serious infection and to have her come back sunday. Im uploading some pics and vids for all to see, and hopefully by Sunday they give me the good news on the healing process. Everyone please take note, i was stupid for not locking her up. This cost my baby her leg, and it could of been worse. Please learn from my lesson and keep your pets safe. I know sometimes our dogs do the dumbest things like run after a car. Just love em, they need us.

    UPDATE UPDATE 4.0 !
     Well, we just came back from the vet, they had to keep her longer on the table so it the final tab was about 550, and thanks to you all it was fully paid!! The dr. stated that her bone was actually chipped a little, and she was in in extreme pain. Because of this, she will need to come in on Sunday to have a drainage tube removed, and to see if she needs a much stronger antibiotic ($$$). She is wearing the cone-of-shame but her spirit seems good! Once i get off work ill post some after op videos, and once again guys you are all AMAZING! If there is somthing i can do to repay , I'll do it. Whenever wherever!

    Update 3.1 Guys thanks to you all , we have been able to cover the initial down payment for her surgery to start. Now she is in a waiting list and will be in surgery when the dr gets to her! They will call me the minute she gets out and if there is any extra charges ~

    You guys have me in tears, I never cry in front of my old man but I did telling him what you all have done. She is now at the vet, and they told me they will call me with updates. They also stated that they have no timeline for when to expect her. I have some videos im uploading to youtube of her to show you the pre-op.



    I came home from work and my dog was out, looks like she got stuck in a fence somewhere.I pray that some person didnt do this to her. What are some cheap emergency vets in east dallas? anyone know what im looking at for cost here? fucking hell



    I dont get paid till next friday so I hope the pawn shops are open

    Damn I'm sorry to hear that.... Pawn shops should be open though. I'd donate but I don't get another check until next Friday....


    It does look like he got caught in a fence though somewhere I seriously hope no human did that.

      Just get the dog to a vet. Worry about the bills later. Makes me sad to see that.

          May sound like a dumb question but does your regular vet have an after hours # or vet on call?

            Called my vet. and the E.Vet she gave me was on 35e and Frankford, right next to the RaceTrac gas station..
            If it's not too far for you the # is 972 323 1310

            Edit: Looking at it, it's not bleeding to bad and the cuts are going up and down and not across. I'm no vet, but artery's run up and down the leg and doesn't look like any got hit, hence the not much bleeding. That's a pos.

              Thanks guys, the emergency vet i took her to last time wanted 100 bucks upfront but then nickle and dime me for some pills. I feel like complete shit that i dont have a lot of money to get her properly looked at. I feel like such an idiot that i didnt lock her up before work cause i was running late. She is not even crying, thanks guys for the kind words. I'm a go hit up the pawn store and hopefully someone knows a nice vet that can keep me on a payment plan or something.

                I think if you ask them up front they all may help you, but none of their costs are cheap either - hence the cost to treat the animal. I'm guessing you're looking at least 500 dollars - more like 800 dollars.though on that - based off past experience. Cost will go up with infection. Another option is 75-150 to put her to sleep. If you let that go (days), it'll likely get a lot worst and more expensive to treat.

                  If that's an emergency care clinic, we've had...

                  ...well, the animal was put to sleep, but this was after I felt the staff there did everything possible. I mean, you can't blame the staff for what they get handed. They were professionals and seemed to genuinely care.

                    Yeah, that probably won't be cheap. One of my Boston's got attacked by the neighbors dalmatian and it degloved his front leg. We probably dropped $4k after it was all said and done between surgeries, skin grafts and daily vet trips for bandage changes. Heopfully they have enough skin there just to stitch it back up and he recovers fast.

                      this happened to my dog as well, i didnt have the money to get his leg fixed so the vet told me what to do

                      go to cvs get some peroxide* and some monkeys blood(dont think thats the real name but its a bottle with some red stuff in it) and just bandage it up every day, wash it out everyday for about 2 weeks and it should be good to go, the only thing you have to worry about is arthritis

                              I have a care credit account for these types of situations. Its a revolving credit account that can be used for physicians and veterinarians.

                              Depending on the account you have, there's no interest if the balance is paid in 6,12,or 24 months, but if you pay late, or don't pay it in full by the allotted time, they will charge you interest on the full amount from day 1.
