Was he selling several different hoods on craiglist? I seem to remember that car in the ads with different style hoods on it.

These guys have an awesome "dyno don" replica, afx comet:

422 Motorsports is a All Ford Nostalgia Drag Racing Team based in Oaks Pa. The cars are early 60's vintage S/S and F/X machines. The team travels to many events throughout the year.

This team car is a Nicholson authorized clone of Dyno Don's 1964 Comet. As many of you know, "Dyno" was a
great friend of the 422 Motorsports team. After being raced for many years by "Fast" Fred Henderson, the Comet
was totally rebuilt in early 2005. The car in now owned by "Dangerous" Dave Powers, and driven by Ed Youmans .
Powered by one of Rich LaMont's Shelby aluminum "FE" motors using Hilborn injection this car has found its
way to an 8.81 @ 153 and the team looks for more big numbers to be posted in the future. E-Z Ed has driven
this car to the NSCA championship runner-up spot twice!

                  That and Falcons apparently.

Some of the baddest mother fuckers of all time were old fords, though.

The 202 post is a deceptively light little car, with the 6cyl models weighing in at 2600lbs factory.

Im thinking about scrapping the idea of picking up a 64 fairlane wagon and instead going with a '64 comet 202.

The 64 Comet drag cars like in your pictures are my favorites! I've always liked them, maybe even better than the two classics I own now.

I'm the 3rd owner, got it from my Grandpa, it has 37k original miles, but it's been sitting since 1982. I plan on just making it a nice cruiser, mostly original except for new paint (same color though), and maybe an AOD to replace the 2 speed auto. It needs a new gas tank, lines (maybe), and the typical tune up stuff. New brake system is already in place. I need to find a 2 barrel carb too if anyone has a line on one. The interior just needs new carpet, rear seatback, headliner.
If you pay more than $20 for one of those 2 brl Autolite 2100, you're paying too much. Super plentiful, super reliable.

Yeah, that was probably him...he's local, just over in Bedford. He started unloading a bunch of stuff just a few months back, decided on a different direction with the car and last I talked to him he is going a whole different color scheme, powertrain and all.
