If you read far enough in..you will find that the GTR that ran that lap was actually carrying more weight than normal due to test equipment being on board. A japanese test driver who knew that car through and through ran NUR...numerous times to probably get that time. Do you think that if a Japanese driver grabbed a 911 Turbo S and ran it he would do as well as a Porsche Test driver? Probably not. People were hating because Nissan did so much with that car. They have been refining and tuning the GTR Since '69. There are actually race in Australia and Japan where the GTR isn't allowed to run in due to fairness (not sure if that is still applicabel...it was back in the late 80s and into the 90s. Love it or hate the GTR is a badass world class super car.

Alot of people (not saying you) can't get past the fact that it is a "rice burner" Nissan from Japan. Some think it is "ugly", some hate the tranny, some hate the fact that you can't use the launch w/o voiding the warranty, some hate it because it isn't a Mustang or a Corvette. ANYONE who TRULY appreciates automobiles and understands the technical advances of the GTR can only at worst say "yeah..it may be (insert hate comment here) but it is a bad ass machine". Hell I don't care much for the EVOs but they are amazing at what they can do in such a small package. I don't much like the new mustang...I think it is one of the uglier mustangs ever made...but I can appreciate how far it has progressed as a sports car and the absolute zeal with which it gobbles up the American imagination. To each his own I say. We all love different cars for different reasons. Denny likes those Cobra IIs and someone on here loves the Fairmonts...the wagons at that. To each his own.
k, my daily driver is a mazdaspeed3, so..?

Does the interior of this GTR resemble the interior of the car Jackie Chan drove in Cannonball Run?

So? So what? If you were trying to make a point I must have missed it.

I have never been called a wigger. A cityfied redneck yes, but a wigger, never. Is it because of my loose shirt I was wearing?
Annoying people, one post at a time!

This comparison is from 2008 with a 2009 GTR prerelease run. Don't get me wrong. The new Boss LS is badass and has GREAT track performance for just under 50K. I think the whole conversation is the same across the board. You either don't like the GTR/Mustang/Corvette/(insert car of choice) and would never buy one or you do and would. I love the GTR and no it is not a perfect car...but none out there are. All cars have weak areas, be it performance/cooling issues/overall cost/looks/styling/etc etc. I personally would take a 1997 Nissan Skyline 400R or maybe the R33 N1 over any car in the world (assuming you couldn't sell it). Just like some of you guys would take the latest ZR1 or whatever...that is my preference.

I had posted about the new 2012 and its improved performance. He then posted that the NEW 2012 LS outruns "it", when in fact he was comparing a 2008 (prerelease 2009) GT-R. I was talking about the 2012, he was talking about the 2009, which prompted me to ask where he was getting his information. Either one of you still confused?

I gave props to the LS...but you are talking about a car that was set-up to run a certain track...hence the name "LS". If it holds a tracks name I sure as hell hopes it gets good numbers. Props to Ford Racing for a badass machine.

Meh. If I had that kind of coin, I'd kick in the little bit extra for a ZR1. No way I'd pay almost 100k for a 370z with a turbo and AWD.

LS? I thought we were talking about a Boss Mustang VS a GT-R?

                                R33 4 door for me.

How does this compare to a cts v?

And lol at saying the 08 gtr was carrying more weight. Wouldn't all the cars have the same testing equipment?

A twin turbo awd 3.7l v6 gets gamed on by a solid axle rwd all motor 5.0 v8. Lol

Boss was quicker then a gt3?? Damn!!
