Nice find. Wood or steel bed? Disc brakes?

This is my 71 C20. My grandpa bought it new. Original nearly rust free sheetmetal, paint and interior. Swapped in a stroker kit and overdrive a couple years ago.

Well my friend.....I'm fresh out of garage space...but still got plenty of outside parking, so this one is gonna sit outside. BTW - what's the latest on your Cummins swap??

        6.2 lsx
Only decent though man. The only other yellow I like is Saturn Yellow on a 70' Buick GSX. But for this....Blue/white like the bottom of this thread, or orange/white, or...well....a lot of better options I guess. I'll post some underhood picks later....this one even has all the chalk and oil pen marks on the firewall still....so I doubt I'll get far enough into it to change the color.

For now....a different set of wheels/tires, of course an adjusted "stance", a little tuning up, fix the AC, and put a hitch on it....think I'll haul the boat with it this summer to keep my new truck from getting trashed with all the lake crap.

...but on the lookout for any deals on a LSx that I can plug into it.

Yes...partially so. The LWB's are always quite a bit cheaper than the SWB's...especially in the 71-72 years. However, this one was even more cheap than normal b/c of a whole other story..too long to tell. Short - I've got some good friends who are always on the lookout, and I happened to answer the phone at the right time.

Steel bed and Power discs. Actually 71' was the first year that these trucks came standard with front disc brakes...so all 71-72's on up had the discs out of the factory, but they did let quite a number of them out with manual brakes in 71, but not as many in 72+. This one also has the factory optional saddle fuel tanks in it...so a total of 3 fuel tanks.

I always liked that 3/4 ton of yours....very cool truck! One of the ones around the net that made me realize I wanted a LWB this next time honestly.

my dad had a red and white one that I drove around when I was a kid.. I would pick one up in a heart beat if I had the funds and it was available.

i learned drive with one of these trucks! my dad had a blue/white long bed 4x4 and it had a neat little tool box stashed in front of the rear fender. Dad did construction work with that truck. so needless to say it was beat up like all his trucks were over years!

Orange/white >*. My grandfather bought a '70 new and converted it to propane a few years later. It was super nice. He even had the old school clear plastic seat covers.

I think long beds are ugly too...

Im tired of seeing the 67-72 trucks altogether

                          Just my humble opinion
