I helped a team that was pitted by us last weekend try to keep their foxbody coupe runing all weekend. They have run 4 races at MSR Houston, not finishing the last two. Seems they keep blowing head gaskets.
I recomended that they check out the AFR, and get a new set of head bolts, or even studs. The captain/owner of the car threw in the towel, and started asking questions about getting a Miata. One of my teamates bought one for spare parts a couple weeks ago, so we made a deal.
SO, introducing the State Pooper.
They gave me nearly all the parts they had leftover from the last engine, some stuff they had for spares, and some hotrod goodies. I picked it up in Austin this morning. Lights and sirens work. Going to pop a T5 back in, they were running a 3 speed. Also going with bigger brakes on the front, disks on the rear, and 5 lug. Working on getting some 17" cop wheels. And fix the head gaskets right.
Oh, and obligatory FTP!
