At low speeds (looks like you're going in the 30s max)...itll require a ton of surface area to get any useful downforce. A ricer wing will likely add so little downforce that the weight alone surpasses the downforce.
Hence the comment about sprint car style...thats basically a billboard the width of the car. I dont think its an actual wing profile...more of a flat plate spoiler...but they still work.
The alternative is a formula SAE style of 4-5 element wing with a really high pitch. I think that would be really expensive to make properly...but it would be the only way I can think of to use an actual wing and get downforce at those low speeds. The formula sae competition is pretty low speed.
And since you're not using most of your horsepower, you don't care about drag. I think I still have my really simple multi element wind design software if you need me to run a few quick calculations.
Very interesting. I mainly wanted to put a nascar style sheet metal spoiler on it to finish the original design and paint scheme, but if I could do something simple that actually works that would be cool. I don't want to go this far though. atleast not yet. lol

Lookin' pretty race car now man. I agree with keeping the door panels. Not a ton of weight savings, but much more comfortable with them on there. I still say the floor pan/door jams need some white paint for the body-in-white look.
I agree, and plan on doing it because of your suggestion. So thanks for that. I still need to put a wing on it, but the look is pretty much where I want it. Other than sponsor logos. lol
Really looking forward to the race Sunday. The wife is hooked and really wants to run again.

You must be doing well with these videos. This latest one popped up on my phone as a suggested video from You Tube.
HA, awesome! I think it has to do with a more regular post schedule. I'm also whoring myself out on facebook instagram and reddit. I'ts good to hear I'm showing up though. I'm getting about 500-600 views on average. Seems like that's my audience right now. I'm hoping the upped quality of my edits and some more humor laced in there will grow my people a bit. Also the next two videos should be good.
That's more because youtube knows what you've watched historically...though it does look like his views are doing ok for a small channel.
Ya, thanks everyone for watching these. Also I've been playing the google algorithm game. pictures of my car are starting to move closer up the google image search when you search rallycar and mustang, or even offroad mustang. I went with wild paint in neon colors for a reason and it seems to be working. The mod I did monday that will be in an upcoming video should draw in some views.
