Yes we are. The same car already went nines, on a subsequent pass. One of the comments in the video said the driver isn't using the transbrake yet, so it could possibly launch harder.

Pretty sure there was a little no roll cage sandbagging there.

I hate that cars are now bought, not built.

Why? The built ones can go even faster.

I want to say you sound poor. However, I completely agree.

I am just saying that I would rather have a fox and put $5k into it. Any shmo can buy a car at he dealer and not know anything about it, except what they are told.

Pardon my ignorance but is the car in the vid stock?

I know what you mean. 20 years ago my TII RX-7 was faster than any production car in the world. Now it is just a ratty, loud, old car without A/C or a radio. After I saw the Koenigsegg 1 to 1 in a magazine article I completely gave up on the idea of having a completely dominant street car that I built. To even come close to having a street car that beats anything it gets near you now have to start with one that is at the top of the heap to begin with before you turn the first wrench on it.

Being beaten by a car capable of running that number which can be comfortably driven border to border/coast to coast regardless of traffic and weather conditions, those are the losses that hurt the worst, amirite? lulz...

I'm fine with it. There's always someone that's going to be faster and no matter how they got there, they spent more money than I'm willing to spend.

That's fine. Park a demon next to my car, I bet mine gets more looks, and it's fast enough to put a smile on my face.

Ferrari, Lambo, and plenty others have been building from the factory fast cars beyond your price range for decades, you hate on them too?

I put plenty of time, sweat, money, and blood into building out my '98 back int the day, yet the driveability and over all owner experience is light years better in my much faster '17. Not to mention warrantied.

The car can run 9.6@140 on the factory tires but with racing fuel. Also note that Dodge did sell a few drag pak Challengers. Once this engine becomes legal they'll probably be running high 7s in stock eliminator. Not that they are anywhere close to being a real street car though.
