Anthony Bourdain is a twat.

There isn't a chef on this planet that isn't a cunt, and that's just the way it is. I like Bourdain a lot. He's not the most accomplished, but he is very entertaining, and I dig his no nonsense demeanor. His books are fantastic reads. He is very sarcastic, and has the obnoxious new yorker thing about him, but on both occasions I've been around him, he was a decent enough guy.

I've found two local restaurants I like because of his show.

Chef Point - and Rosako's soul food.

Both of those had very large followings prior to his show, but whatever gets them noticed I suppose.

You're right on about Jalopnik, but I would say that it's more their readership than them. Don't get me wrong, the writers there have weird taste, but they're generally pretty open, even if they ride the "Mustangs kill at cars and coffee" bit a little too hard for my taste.

I'm not defending them, but I guess I am defending my viewing of that site multiple times a day. If there's a better general car news and opinion site out there, I'd be happy to switch. I haven't found one though.
