And people are bitching about a $40K loaded GT? Fuck how much are Slomaros these days?

Edit; it looks alike a loaded SS Coupe is $42K a Stingray is $55K, if given the choice I think I would rather spend the extra coin and get a Vette, but I guess there really isn't a 4-door performance market so they can charge what they want...

Keep in mind the 55k vette is a base model. You want to compare apples and oranges the Vette will run about 80k+

I'm not sure where your getting your info, but a Vette comes with the same engine, same brakes, leather and a manual.

These are a good bit less used and GM was offering significant rebates only a few months back. People were walking away with brand new ones for $33-35K.

I cant think of another sedan that comes close to its performance at that price. You also get a far more usable car than the Corvette.

This is one was 6 months old with 12k on it, so I saved vs. buying new.

If you want a RWD V8 sedan with a manual transmission, the only other option in the US is an M5, and they start at $94k. They also only sell the SS completely loaded, the only options are a sunroof and spare tire. It's still not cheap, but in that context I still think it is a good value, especially used.

Chevy also had a 20% off promotion earlier in the year, so people were getting them new under $40k out the door. The few manuals that were still around when the 20% came out were snatched up immediately(I didn't learn of the promotion until it was too late).

A similarly configured Mustang GT is $43k, and doesn't offer magnetic ride control. Should come in 2018, but will likely drive the price up further. New cars are just fucking expensive.

Thats not a bad price right there and still a bargain for 4-door performance car with 400+ HP with RWD is great. A lot cheaper than a similar loaded Charger and lighter to boot.

Charger also does not have the right transmission or suspension. The manual cars will likely retain their value much like the Pontiac examples have.

I was referring that the Stingray is the base model Vette. Lower HP compared to the Grand Sport or Z06. Also the Stingray comes with the "cheap" 18 inch wheels and looks plain without the ground effect/rear spoiler that the other Vette models have. The Stingray looks like a blue haired grandmas Vette.

                  ... and it's a two-door with no back seat.

                  Silly argument.

Don't forget to factor in the luxo-market depreciation, a 6-month old M5 will fetch about the same price.

                        awesome bro.

the white ones look the best.

                        needs a procharger.

Looks like you've done your homework. Can't hate a v8 and three pedals, enjoy it!

I recall scat pack chargers going for decently under $40k as well. Their new auto is supposed to be quite nice but no manual option.

Anyone paying sticker for anything is a fool or just has enough money that it really doesn't matter to them.

Scat pack charger is making way more power and the auto kicks ass. Wife has the srt8 with the adjustable suspension and bigger brakes and is essentially a $50k merc/AMG E63. My scat pack challenger was just north of $41k because of a couple special options and the auto was way quicker than the manual. Dyno numbers I've seen show the 485hp 6.4L is under rated.

I considered the SS and gave up when I could not find a manual and especially after the wife bought the SRT8 charger. You should like the SS though.
