We were driving around the other night and my wife asked, "What is making all that noise?" I pointed at the red SS beside us. Looked pretty stock but obviously had some exhaust on it. She couldn't believe THAT car was making THAT sound

A little lower and some wider rear tires/wheels, and you're set.
This has magnetic ride control, and it rides gloriously in touring mode, and can stiffen up with the turn of a knob. I had the FRPP P Springs on Bilsteins on the Mustang and the ride SUCKED, especially on the shitty roads here in Houston.
So I am not planning on touching the suspension, fender gap be damned. The MRC is just too good as is. Some people have lowered them and claim that ride quality didn't suffer, but my experience in past vehicles leads me to suspect otherwise.
Reminds me of when I bought my 09 Mustang. Loved the ride. Then a few years later, hated the ride quality. Bought a new Challenger and then realized the Mustang ride quality truely did suck....no question about it.
Ride quality sucks in any live axle car, and any BMW.
I thought this was common knowledge.
My 2012 was a base model GT, and I thought it rode pretty well with the stock suspension. It wasn't great if you were on the throttle over really rough/broken pavement, but most of the time it was fine. It was really floaty and had tons of body roll and brake dive, though.
After I changed the shocks and springs, it handled great and no more body roll, but would beat the shit out of you on all but the smoothest roads. I guess I'm just getting too old.
I'll concur on the live axle, but my old E92 M3 and the current X4 ride great imo. Different experiences between the two of course, but both hit their intended mark.
Don't besmirch that name with this Aussie knock off.
We actually do have a new (2015) Impala and it's nice, real nice. Buddy has a 2014 SS and I like them both, each for different reasons. I actually pressured him into buying the SS because he couldn't get off the fence between this and a Taurus SHO.

Nothing - NOTHING - rides worse than a damned M3! They are fast cars and handle great but the ride quality is nonexistent. It feels like they decided tire sidewall deflection was adequate suspension travel.
I am not talking too much shit, my Mustang is on Sportlines so I know a shitty ride when I feel one!

And people are bitching about a $40K loaded GT? Fuck how much are Slomaros these days?
Edit; it looks alike a loaded SS Coupe is $42K a Stingray is $55K, if given the choice I think I would rather spend the extra coin and get a Vette, but I guess there really isn't a 4-door performance market so they can charge what they want...
Look all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.
