Or take one to the track. They usually cant make it through a single lap before going into limp mode.

Rather drive the Alfa. For performance the Tesla is a one trick pony. I see them as one of the ultimate douche, look at me, mobiles.

Spoken like someone who's never driven one.

Even without darg racing or insane mode, it's still one of the best cars I've ever driven, especially as a comfy, fast daily. By all accounts, the Alfa is a car for self loathing massochists who hate being comfortable and convince themselves it's worth it for the rare occasion they encounter a twisty, perfectly smooth stretch of road with no traffic.

I'm must be a masochist then, for me comfort comes a distant second to fun and engaging.

FYI, not spoken like someone who has not driven one. I found it to be nothing special other than fast in a straight line. Interior does not befit a $100K+ car and I miss not having the sound of the engine.

I will take the Alfa and the extra $50k for something else for daily driver duty, hmm, maybe like the ISF I already own. So scratch that, I will keep the $50k in my pocket.

That's the disconnect then. I found the Tesla to be all of those things.

Good thing we have some many options as automotive enthusiasts to choose from. What wears me out is the constant comparisons, just like the one above, that say the Tesla is superior to another car. So it is faster in a straight line, great, but that does not automatically make it a better car. Just like a Hellcat may be faster in a straight line than a GT350, but that does not make it a better car, depending on the intended purpose.

Seems blind to the future. Not only does the electric motor power train have far superior potential, so does all the tech in the car, and even the way you buy one. Extremely low center of gravity means it's probably not horrible on curves either.
Yes that Tesla SUV is 130k, but the sedan that would do even better in a race is 85k or less. The new 30k car might even give must cars you referenced a run for their money.
Finally - how much "fancy leather" do you need in a car that can self-drive, avoid accidents, win any drag race, has the best interior tech usage, and come pick you up?

Really, if done right, the outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion. An electric motor is what, 86% efficient with its energy? No internal combustion engine can match that. I think they're something like 25%. The rest is all wasted in heat. The IC car never had a chance vs the electric car.
