Sounds like it needed a driver mod. They have the car rated at 526/429 so with traditional drivetrain loss percentages it seems like it was under rated. It has .2 more cubes. Yes it has a higher RPM due to the crank but it makes 100 more hp with a much better curve than a stock 5.0. Tune only they are knocking on 500. LTs and tune they are around 520. I wouldn't say that's unimpressive.

Sounds good, but the GT350 can barely outrun the Camaro SS and the similarly priced ZL1 will stomp a mud hole in the GT350R.

I must say I'm a little shocked at the torque, I would've thought it higher in that 5.2. Reminds me of my 415 horse E92 M3 with a measly 295 ft/lbs.
That much$$, i would get my dream car at that price. Dodge viper 20xx

I've always wanted a Viper as well, but when it came time to actually plunk down that much cash for an almost decade old used 2-seater, I couldn't personally justify it. Daydreaming and cutting a check are two very different frames of mind.

So you would not put down the green on a 69 camaro?

Huge difference, one's a classic, and the other's a depreciating yet expensive used car.

I finally located a dealer that will sell them for close to sticker, but they are way the hell out in East Texas.

                      $1650 Over Sticker...

0% for 72mo....with $20K down, my payment would still be close to $600/mo (on something that won't be a daily driver). Ugh.

And those aren't even R models.

I'm not looking for an R model.

Ah, gotcha. Your reasoning is still right on as far as the cost/benefit. That's a lot of coin.

Even without factoring in the crazy markup here in CA I've gone through the same mental exercise, and it just doesn't make sense to pay that much scratch for a mustang, other than factoring in the potential collectibility. I'm not at all hating, in a different financial situation I absolutely see the value, and I almost made a very rash decision to get one. It sucks to be poor.
