Well I like the widebody and would go that route as I would have to have new centers made for the wheels which would cost more. But I like it so thats the important thing.
Problem is it would look like a high HP car and it only makes 403rwhp. So I would have to do a 6.0 and turbo conversion which I can do for less than the turbos cost for my Benz so I am contemplating it.

Chances are real high I will just sell the wheels and tires cheap thou because the Vette is so perfectly balanced now its fun to drive. No fear tossing it in a corner or hammering on it. If I double the power and wide ass tires it wont be so well balanced. I dig the car how it is and its just too pristine with that LPE motor in it.

Plus when the AMG gets back I will probably lose interest in the Vette and sell it anyway. i dunno, I am fickle so who knows what I will do. I make snap decisions. lol

I didn't know this many people didn't like widebodys. They look tasteful on c5's IMO

Whats CJ talking about with a $50 minitub? I wish a damn g-body was that cheap and easy.

This thread is making me want a vette bad. parking is the main thing that's keeping me from it. 3 in the driveway, Z and a motorcycle in the garage

Meh. Guy I bought the wheels from had some issues with the new wheels and couldnt use them and asked if I would sell them back so I did. Dont really matter now anyway as a friend whos car I always liked saw the Vette last night and had to have it so we just traded straight up. So no more Vette but I have a second AMG lol

                    CL65 is a 2012 and the E55 is a 2003 with a 2009 face and tail

My next Vette will be a C5 Z06 most likely. I already have two, and I never regret buying either one. Everytime I get in either of them and start it up I get a smile on my face. I also make insta friend all over town when I drive the older (and cheaper) one. Both of them make me smile with their old school sound, feel, lack of amenities and I love pounding the go pedal.

Honestly, right now the C5 Z06, is a total performance bargain. Sure some of the newer cars are a bit faster in a straight line, but overall the Vette is a great package, unless you need one as a daily driver..... they are not daily driver material. It's been done, but it's not ideal.

Next Vette 01 Z06 in white or 03 in blue, black, silver, yellow or red in that order preferred or possibly an '04 special edition, but I'd really like an '03 to go with my '78.

The vettes dont really have any obstructions to prevent a wider tire on the inside of the wheel. You just move the wheel wells in by cutting the bend out, and moving it over a few inches, then adding a fiberglass strip. There are more in depth tubs that go further then that, but it's pretty much free.

It allows you to go from a 295 to a 345.

The C5 was always my favorite body Vette and I am having some minor regrets about the trade. One is like you said, anywhere you go you make friends. You hear stores of when they had one or rode in one or always dreamed of one. Nearly everyone loves a Corvette. It is Americas sports car after all. Yeah America makes some sleeker cars, some fater cars and better handling cars but the Vette is an iconic car. The AMG is pretty much ignored which is fine by me. In the Vette cops always looked. In the AMG they dont even glance. I can romp the gas pedal (this E55 is loud as hell!) and a cop will instantly look at the Mustang or Camaro around me but never at me. lol

Drove to Austin to get new tires and an alignment as it was pretty off and the front tires inner cords were showing and it would be 5 days till any 19" tires would make it to Waco. I didnt feel like waiting. Plus it had crap on there and I am a Michelin fan so now that it has them its MUCH better. Its a fun car. Has some quirks but all in all seems solid.

I do miss that sexy looking Vette though.
