That "Paperweight" is a phrohibited weapon in TX and having one on your person is a felony. Hitting someone with them is the same level of offense as shooting them with a gun. You can get away with having your rings but once you hit someone with them they become a phrohibited weapon the same way a crow bar is just a crow bar until you use it to illegally break into some place with it and then it becomes a burglary tool.
