In essence, insurance companies want to hire attorneys to defend them when their insured has been sued and they are unwilling to pay anything to the other side (the Plaintiff) AND they don't want to spend any money on attorney's fees, despite the fact that they expect the attorney to work his A$$ off defending the case.

Thought it was pretty clear. Facepalm is in order, I think.

Sounds like any client dealing with an attorney.

                  haha!

I guide companies through the process of certifying new parts for use in aircraft. I write reports, test plans, create and modify drawings, and whatever else is needed to walk everything through the FAA so our clients don't have to run that gauntlet. I have to be pretty familiar with federal regulations to be efficient.

It sounded familiar. Our clients like what we do, but don't like paying so much for it. I'm glad I'm not the one haggling over fees and work to be done, but I hear about it all the time.

Was just curious. You seem to be far more intelligent than 99% of the people that post here. lol

You'd be surprised. I have clients that tell me to prosecute or defend a case regardless of what it costs, they pay their bill on time and never complain. They do that because I've built up a good relationship with them and they know that I don't believe in over-billing clients. Granted, I've had a number of clients that have said they don't care about what it cost because it's a matter of principal, but those are the ones that usually end up not wanting to pay what they owe. I've learned that "it's a matter of principal" usually means problems in the future, so I watch their account very closely to make sure they are paying on time. I can't work for free...
