They do? Thats news to me. Granted only 20 of mine were over 100k.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Haha I had two of those motors pop within 5k miles of 100k. Granted it was of the cobra variety. I thought when I did some research into it these had the same issues. Maybe not.

It's good you have all the records. Always keep the oil change intervals low. They like to eat a little oil and are known to spin bearings around 100k. Is it still on bags?
Nearly all modular engines do go through some oil. Nothing like the Northstar though.

Yeah, still on the factory air bags. When they finally do give up, I have a parts car with a brand new set of strutmaster coil overs.

        Same here, no issues. I've had a 93, a 94, a 96, a 97 motor, a 97 cobra, and two different continentals.

You must have some bad luck, that sucks. I beat the holy hell outta mine and never had any issues.

This wasn't my personal experience with the 2 I owned. Drove them hard, changed the oil after the oil change reminder had been on for a while using regular Motorcraft 5w20. Normally had to add a quart in between oil changes, but the engines both ran really strong. The '93 had 200,000 on it and the '98 had 270,000. The engine is the best part of these cars.

Everyone says that the 4R70W's are a weak link too. Both of mine still had the original transmission. Got lucky with them I guess.

Gas mileage on both was 26-29 mpg highway and 18-22 around town.

The front suspension is another matter entirely. Upper & lower arms need replacement every 2 years or so. The popping noises never seem to go away for long no matter how many suspension parts you replace. One part or another is constantly needing attention.

The rear suspension isn't too bad other than the damn upper shock mounts. They will go bad and I didn't enjoy contorting myself into position to changed them several times over the life of the cars. Rear bushings are cheap and easy to replace.

The air ride is easy to maintain as long as you use OEM parts. I bought some stuff from Strutmasters once and regretted it. Not many OEM air ride parts available anymore but they are superior to the aftermarket stuff.

I really enjoyed my VIII's but don't miss not having them. There was always something nagging to fix. The Honda that replaced the last one has only required an oil change and 2 tires.

It would look a lot better with the Vortech T-trim I have for sale on it😀

Clean ride! I remember Rick Modena was selling one a few years back that I really wanted but didn't have the spare cash to buy it with. It was the same color and everything.

I tried to get her to let me, but she is a purist. That T-trim would look nice on the T-bird that i'm fixing to build.

Don't remember that one. I remember a stupid clean Mark VII on here a few years back.
