  • 1996 Mark VIII LSC.

Technically not my car, my mom picked it up. Not one to show off someone elses car, but I have never seen a Mark VIII this clean and I'm the one who found it.

84K miles on it. Bought it from the original owner. Has the window sticker, and a 3 inch thick folder with receipts, as well as a summary sheet on top. Every oil change, brake job, tire rotation, warranty work, and misc repair is in that folder. I don't think the back seat has ever been sat in. The engine bay, wow, I charged the A/C and didn't even get my hands dirty.

Quite simply, the only flaws it has are some parking lot dings. On that note, if someone knows a good PDR guy, I need him.

I was apparently the first cash offer and the guy held it for me. He said that a collector from Waco was wanting it, but he promised to hold it for me. If that was LaserSVT, I'm sorry man.

Pretty much. He really didn't want to sell it, but it wasn't driven much since 03 and his wife wanted him to sell it. Definitely went to a woman that's going to take care of it though.

That's a nice looking Mark VIII. Good score! Mom is going to enjoy driving that.

I had Mark VIII as daily drivers for 10 years until recently, a '93 & '98 LSC. There are still some parts from them in my garage that I kept as spares to keep them going. If you would like some spare parts send a PM, it would be good to get them to a home to keep a nice VIII on the road, reclaiming that garage space would be a bonus.

Nice Mark! And no, that wasnt me. lol I really like the 96 but would never buy one due to the several important things that are 96 only and you cant find anywhere any more.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

On that note, you wanna sell the headlights?

I prefer the 96 because of those things, but yeah it would suck if they broke. Glad it wasn't you lol.

Lol, I've already told her what they're worth, she doesn't care. Lights are more important to her than cash.

                    What are the differences?

Mostly the headlights. HID's came on the 96 LSC and the early cars got those god awful halogens. The IMRC's were electric instead of vacuum, the radio was double DIN, climate control was different.

Nice grab. I peeked at these a few days ago and didn't think they'd be so cheap. Are parts ridiculous for them?

No, parts aren't bad. Without question the biggest flaw with the 93-96 cars is the headlights. They have been disappearing lately, too many people hacking them up for their engines.

I am guilty of the same thing right now, but I bought the worlds worst Mark VIII to do it with. Bought a 93 to swap it's guts into my T-bird.

The 96 has a specific ECU as well as VSRC and FPDM. Is something else but I forget right now. Great thing about them is they have the better intake with tunable ECU.

                              Good find!

It's good you have all the records. Always keep the oil change intervals low. They like to eat a little oil and are known to spin bearings around 100k. Is it still on bags?
