  • Bought my dream car - 1998 Supra Turbo

DISCLAIMER: I doubt anyone cares, but I kinda wanted to chronicle this for myself anyway.

Long story short I've wanted a Supra TT since I was in the 7th grade (1997). My dad had a silver 94 tt 6spd and it was a big influence in me getting hooked on cars. Unfortunately for me these cars pretty much gone up in value ever since my dad sold his in 2000.

After seeing 2k2ls1 find his old car I started the search to find my dads 94. I ended up finding it but lets just say it's not available for purchase. At this point I figured I'd move on but I kept finding myself searching for one to buy. Finally I found this 1998 Imperial Jade Mica 6 speed TT car and had to have it. While I wasn't really looking for green it is neat that it's 1 of 14 in this color with a 6 speed and 1 of 24 TT's in the color all together, plus it's growing on me. This particular car has some tasteful mod's, built motor/single turbo, standalone ecu, ccw's, etc. I made an offer and booked airfare (with the wife) to go get it in Florida. We decided to make a mini-vacation out of it (pretty risky considering it's 1200miles in a modified car, but my wife is cool and went for it).

We flew in on Thursday, bought it and left town Friday..

Quick stop at the Texas Border

All cleaned up at work just in time to get douched on by the storm

I've got to say, I've driven plenty of faster, nicer, more advanced, etc. cars in my line of work but something about this car has me hooked. I've only had it a few days and it's already my favorite car I've ever owned. We made the trip without incident, and the car knocked down 22-24mpg the whole way. Looking forward to making the car as nice as it can be (and probably a little quicker as well). I'll keep this page updated as I change it.

Very cool. Glad you got your dream machine and love it so. Those Supras are some serious bad ass rides. See so many pumping over 40psi.... just nuts the power they push.
Plenty of time to get it ready for Houston next month.... can overnight some parts from Japan.

Could use some cleaning up under the hood, but it's not horrible.

Congrats. I hate that color, but it looks good on your car. I dig it.
