Yeah hook and loop doesn't work when you go that dense nor how fast we scale. The time involved to cable each bundle would increase exponentially.

Our replacement rate on those cables over time is...well I think I've seen it done maybe 5-10 times. It's been an evolution since we started doing them that way in 2006 (far less cables), but needless to say 130k servers later we must be doing something right. To be fair that is a super dense row. Our typical rows are a bit less cabling.

Don't get me wrong. We use zip ties on a regular basis, but the industry states frowns upon that practice simply because of the damage it does to the cables internal of the jacket. Along the same reasons why you don't want to ever kink a solid conductor cable.
