UAV has someone flying it. A drone is flying itself.

When a quad is in return to home mode or auto land then its a drone but the groups I am in dont even have GPS systems. They are racing drones. 1/4 the weight, twice the power, 50x more nimble and considerably faster.

How hard is it to fly one of those like that?

Dunno. Mine does 60 and I still get shaky knees on low fast runs. They are harder to fly than a plane but easier than a helicopter.
