There comes a time when honest debate, serious diplomatic efforts, and logical arguments have been exhausted and only men and women willing to take up arms against evil will suffice to save the freedom of a nation or continent.
I remember watching the news as a kid and seeing them crash all the time.
Cool concept, but 30 men died piloting that thing for testing.
My old lady's dad has 3 or 4 friends that died during the flight tests. He also kind of hates that bird because he was a CH-46 pilot, and he thinks CH-46's are better.
The real problem is that new military aircraft frequently have failures, but as this one can be used as a transport and had a lot of people aboard, that 1 major failure taints the aircraft. IIRC several of the more minor crashes were all attributed to pilot error, trying to take it out of its abilities. Test pilots out at Groom Lake in the 50's had something like a 1 in 4 chance of getting killed during a test flight. CH46's are equally awesome, just a completely different aircraft. I remember getting to go to the Bell Plant on I20 and watching one of the very first flights when I was a kid since my dad was a Supervisor out there. Cool stuff.

I thought that number was higher. A lot of the deaths were marines who were riding in them to show off for some Senators in Arizona, I thought, plus pilots over the years. I could be wrong, I just thought more than 30 were killed getting it to operational status. Still an awesome plane, in my opinion.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.
Sex with an Asian woman is great, but 30 minutes later you're horny again.
Helosailor = Scott. At least it did until his untimely demise when his car lost its brakes and went over that cliff.
