you seem to have experience off roading, how would you do it? just line up straight, inch over the top, and lay on the brakes? or maybe line up straight, inch over the top, and use emergency brake? that way you could use all the steering ability. then maybe use the brakes if you're going straight.

You don't ever want to lay on the brakes when you have the propensity to skid/slide.

I would go over in 1st gear, and upshift when necessary while using light braking. At some point gravity is going to take over and you'll have to put it in neutral and hang the fuck on.
