              An officer was transferring the weapon, and left it on the trunk. They drove away, and the gun was still there, and they parked. Two bike cops were alerted, and they secured the weapon.

              Police in Seattle are investigating how an assault rifle was left resting atop a police car - unattended. The man who took the photo of the strange scene had to flag down two bicycle officers to alert the police department. Sean Whitcomb, of the Seattle Police Department, called the situation "very embarrassing" and they have issued a chain-of-command investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
              "He would "not confirm or deny" the sources' account, but said an investigation has been launched into the "circumstances that would allow for this patrol rifle to be left on this car."

              He also couldn't say whether the rifle, reportedly an AR-15, was loaded"
