I'm very interested to see if Ford really is going to put as much aluminum into the F-150 as people have been speculating.

These trucks are going to start getting even more expensive if that's the case.

They don't have any choice. CAFE is going to force their hand sooner or later. And yes, it will absolutely make the trucks more expensive for the time being. At some point I have to imagine that everything is going to have a composite monocoque because it's going to become cheaper than making aluminum spaceframes eventually; there just comes a point where the process is easy enough and the material costs aren't going to materially change for aluminum.
