Had a friend in high school with a 500hp 17ft jet boat, that thing was insane!! From a standstill it could almost launch completely out of the water if you did it just right.
I'm looking to add a droop snoot and place diverter once funds allow. Then I'll get that nice sweet rooster tail and it should come out of the hole a lot better.
Some of the guys out west with 1000+ hp and pump work can stand them damn near straight up.

I love the old school look, but alas, I'll run either a hilbon style scoop or the velocity stacks on the new motor. I have the logs and snails to match the flame arrestor.
It is, sadly. Tops out around 60, but it gets there quick. The hull weighs around 450#, so with some decent power it should scoot, it has a good bottom on it, and is a pretty solid boat.
Using some charts online I'm guessing it to have ~230HP as it sits. I have a set of better heads to go on the new motor along with a cam change and the TR. Looking for at least 450. 550+ if I decide to stroke it and bump up the compression.
