I saw this 00 WS6 vert M6 that needed some transmission work and general care. It had an LQ4 in it as well. Got out to it and in addition to a toast transmission, the oil pressure was reading zero. It wasn't making any noise, so I figured that it was just a bad sender, and I proceeded to drive it 200 miles home. Yeah, that oil pressure sender was fine, come to find out, it spun a cam bearing.
I tore into the car and found a lot of dipshittery. No pilot bearing, a completely trashed T56, 853 heads on an LQ4, cam retainer plate gasket blown out, oil pickup tube that was RTVed on, etc.
Many tears and $100 bills later, I have arrived with a rebuilt LQ4 with proper 317 heads on it, LS1 cam and a stage 2 T-56. But I am at least happy with the car. Still have some stuff to fix in the interior, fix the headlights, and get a tune, but for the most part, I am happy with it. Ran the production numbers on it and it's 1 of 71.
