  • Black Friday: My new supercharged 05 GT vert

Man, it's been a fun day. I've been looking at 05-09 Mustangs for about 8 months now. So much so, that I've seen every one online within 200 miles of DFW and have an excellent sense of what people are asking for. Suffice it to say, I couldn't let this one get bought by someone else.

These are the seller's pics. I'll shoot some more soon. For now the real challenge is identifying all the mods, which are numerous. I bought it from a small dealer and he didn't know all of the details.

Here's what I know so far:
    • 55K miles
    • Looks almost new inside and out

    Mods
    • Edelbrock supercharger (if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably only pushing 5lbs, but I really can't tell in this weather)
    • Pypes Exhaust
    • Wilwood brakes front and rear
    • Unknown front and rear sway bars (red, so... Eibach?)
    • Unknown red front struts
    • Unknown lowering springs (Blue, so... H&R?)
    • Unknown shifter (that feels great!)
    • Foose wheels
    • CDC classic chin spoiler
    • Roush wing
    • Agent47 painted side mirrors (I love)
    • fog light delete grille (I like)
    • aftermarket headlights (I like a lot less)
    • aftermarket tail lights (I hate)
    • satin finish black or dark charcoal stripes (hard to tell on this rainy day)
    • CDC tail light panel
    • New Pioneer double-DIN head unit with bluetooth and all that.

Hahah, that would make a lot of sense, but I think the name "Black Friday" is going to stick.

Yeah, I'm in the "hate all-black wheels" crowd, so I can see selling/trading these off for something else. Love FR500's, and I also really dig the AMR wheels in charcoal.

That, or maybe Danny would trade me his Shelby wheels.

Nice, I also agree with the possible changes, I might have a stock headlight for it.

            Really nice man
Pretty much agree with what you don't like.

Upgrade that shifter. MGW all the way.

              Congratulations, sir.

I'm not a huge fan of the wheels. I agree with the FR500s. We could body color the tail lights for you. I think the head lights are livable. Let me know if you need anything.

Might take you up on that one. Thanks!

Ah, forgot to mention that. Don't know the brand but the shifter is bad ass! Super close gears and definitely not stock. I'll edit the first post.

                    Cool!!
                    • Edelbrock supercharger
                    Good.
                    • Unknown front and rear sway bars (red, so... Eibach?)
BMR and UPR parts can come powdercoated red, maybe others too.
                    • Unknown lowering springs (Blue, so... H&R?)
Or Ford Motorsport, Steeda, maybe others.
That, or maybe Danny would trade me his Shelby wheels.
I saw these wheels the other day on an S550. Whoa baby. If you want to buy me a set and then swap, we could talk.

Yeah, should be putting down 5.0 numbers in the old body style, so that's best of both worlds for me.

Those are rad, but likely too rich for my blood. The AMR wheels are looking good at less than 200 bones a piece.

Wheels are a statement, so get the ones you really like.

I was just thinking this car is an anti-Bullitt, lol.

I think the E-Force is about the best blower for those 3v motors. They make so much better power at lower boost levels than all the other units out. Dont know if its lower parasitic drain or what but they just seem to make the best numbers per psi.
Plus they look killer on there.
Very nice car man. I hope you enjoy the hell out of it!

I hadn't gotten too far into blower research on these cars beforehand, but I've certainly done some catching up today. Seems like a good design and it's doing a lot with relatively low boost at stage 1. Probably the safest among the options out there which is good for the wimpy rods in these engines. I don't think the bottom end has been built considering the stock exhaust manifolds.

Hah! It totally is. I'll be fixing some of the design choices. It's a cool build, jest some things that aren't my taste. For example, the roush wing is pretty far down my list of choices even though I've liked it on some other cars. Wingless would be best, but there are holes and stripes to contend with. Not sure what I'll do about that.
