Never washed for fear of damaging its paint.......

That car should be in a museum.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I like how it says that, but there is clearly a brand new pressure washer sitting right next to the car

That has always been my favorite mustang ever since I got a die cast model of one as a kid.

                      Krass and Bernie rock!

And there's nothing wrong with that engine bay that a nice dusting and clean wouldn't fix. So yes, you don't know anything. :P

well I was thinking the same thing. I find it hard to believe 8500 miles made the valve covers covered in soot.

I somehow missed the more detailed shots. I thought that was just an artifact of the lighting. That, and I didn't read the whole thing. Seems a little cruddy for that milage, but easily remedied.

It's probably jizz from the guy who found it

They explained the engine in the article. There was a protective coating of crap sprayed on it. That's not engine oil seepage, just dust on an oily spray on covering.
The tires are also from 1971. The original tires could never stay balanced so were replaced shortly before parking it.
