Anti reverse bearings get rusty on any reel that has been dunked and not properly cleaned.
You just reminded me of my friend who has decked himself out in every bit of saltwater fly fishing regalia, with no boat, no kayak, and no plans to get to the coast.
No sense in putting that $800 reel on anything short of a custom rod, which will run you another $380-$400.
For an inshore reel, that's just dumb. You probably can't find too many pros out there with even 1/2 of that in a built reel.
I'm always stingy on what I will pay for used Shimano's on Craigslist ($80 is the most I've paid, but that one was a $200 reel new in box); I completely disregard that I have an $800 G Loomis fly rod and a $400 Sage reel, with $100 worth of line on it, sitting in a $100 carrying case.
EDIT: NICE FISH, AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE HAVING FUN!
