Sorry it took so long. I have been setting up my new garage. Trying to do 10 things at once and it isn't working.

      Here are the boat pictures:

ok, I got my Mac that I had while I was in New Zealand (and my charger broke so I couldn't upload pictures). Here are the picture from the first week of my vacation. The order of the whole vacation has been screwed up, but I started in Amberley (45 north of Christchurch) and headed south to Dunedin.

            Moeraki Boulders

About 2/3 the way there we stopped to look at the Moeraki Boulders.

Here is more information on what they are and how they are formed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moeraki_Boulders

            Dunedin

We didn't do much in Dunedin. The purpose of this stop was to meet her sister and brother-in-law. We were there all weekend and I simply could not get enough of the view from their living room (first picture). The bathroom view (second view) is pretty good too.

The only other stop we made in Dunedin was at Sandfly Bay were you can usually see penguins, sea lions, and seals. We only got to see sea lions, which aren't very exciting to take pictures of. Unless you piss them off.

              Milford Sound

Next stop: Milford Sound. Unfortunately, by this time I had my fair share of meeting people. Going from a place where you are completely isolated and there are no germs, to somewhere where your girlfriend wants to introduce you to half the population of New Zealand, doesn't do well with the immune system. I had a pretty serious head cold going on by this point and wanted to take a ton more pictures. This place is simply amazing and can't be put into pictures or words. Unfortunately, the low cloud cover really covered up the magnificence of the sound, but you get the idea. Keep an eye out for boats in the water (or kayaks) to get a sense for the size.

Here is an underwater observatory where you can see the local ocean-life.

                Random Pictures

Here are just some random pictures going to/from Milford sound and on to Wanaka after Milford Sound.

And lastly, our arrival into Wanaka, which is where I started my pictures from in the first post. Last two pictures are some long exposure pictures I took in the middle of the day (with a 10-stop filter for anybody who knows photography - this was my first attempt).

And lastly, I will leave you with a picture of a rare blonde Mallard duck that was in my girlfriend's dad's back yard.

I envy you, hate you, and thank you all at the same time.

They were coming out of winter going into (or maybe already in) spring. The warmest it got while I was there was 85 and humid, but the southerly breeze off the ocean made it a tad cool.

The most recent post in the random picture thread reminded me. Here is a burger I attempted to eat (and it was a pretty weak attempt at that) while I was at Gold Coast, Australia.
