I also thought they have a no chase policy, or is that just motorcycles, or just state troopers, or what?

I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but people who say "he would have lived if the cops would have just let him go" bother the fuck out of me with that criminally favored mentality.sigpic

I'm not trying that hard chief, my concern was all the other lives that were put at risk with 7 cops flying up behind people at 120 in multiple lanes. If you have ever had a pack of bikes come up on you at night at 120+ swerving lanes you know how scary that can be. They put a lot of motorist at risk by having that many officers engaged in a chase, was my only thought.

Maybe I'm in the minority here for once, but i feel that if you don't catch that person, they are going to be putting people at risk for much longer than just one night, and end up risking many more lives than just those they would have encountered for that night.
When it comes to bikes, I support the chase because chances are, if a helo can get out there, that rider is going to wreck and injure himself (if not kill himself) to a point where he's probably not going to be physically able to do that shit again. A lifetime of potentially endangering people with his stupidity, ended in one night at the risk of fewer people.
These people ARE going to eventually wreck, or risk many more wrecks. Might as well get it over with.sigpic

FWIW - I hadn't seen anyone mention it, but they weren't just street racing...it was also a stolen car.70' Chevelle RagTop

Wfaa says the Camaro was stolen.
However, both the driver and passenger have pics of a white Camaro in their Facebook photos.
Final edit- Not stolen. Car belonged to the chick.

If I remember right, DPD is the one with the no chase policy, unless the suspect committed a violent felony, or something like that. From what I have heard, since that policy was instituted they get the Sheriff's department to assist whenever possible because they do not have that policy.
