If anything, I give the officer some extra credit for limiting the scope of his search. There are quite a few LEOs that would have fully searched the vehicle after that. "Reasonable suspicion" on the part of the officer is a tough one to prove or disprove in court.

2. It's not illegal to have a concealed handgun in your car, if:
a. You are legally allowed to possess one.
b. It stays concealed.
3. Due to failure to comply with a lawful command, the officer did not viloate his 4th amendment rights

I thought the cop did pretty good considering recent events and current social climate. He stayed on the professional side, stop was completed without anyone getting shot, and both went on their way. I was thinking the guy was lucky that the cop was as calm as he was. Could have easily gone the other way with a not so temperate officer. Guy gets pulled from the car and slammed to the ground and cuffed by multiple officers, then there is a completely different story.

Not an expert by any means, but I'm pretty sure many states have laws allowing an officer to search "within arm's reach" of the Driver's seat without a warrant.
