And now you have to figure out how to get it to Houston??

you think maybe you should delete this thread and throw that bitch on craigslist before you could've bought a C7?
I still have hair and my dicks too big for a Vette.

As usual, you thought wrong. Turns out last owner couldnt stand its ride as it was on the Bilsteins. Took it in like 5 times, no wonder they are on the softest setting. They got sick of her and put her in something else in the end of January. They dont deal in used cars so it went to auction in March. JD Motors bought it and it sat on their lot only attracting joy riders for nearly 4 months. They dont finance. Specialty cars only and its cash and carry. They dropped the price to something I had available so i bought it knowing full well (well 70%) of what it took to maintain such an animal.
      It is almost complete.

Only thing the car needs is a driveshaft and if AoA dont agree to send me one I have one that will be sent tomorrow anyway. If it does have to go to Houston (which I will probably deny as I am a better tech than anyone at the dealer I was at) they will bring me a new A6 as per requested and take my car down there to do it and return it and grab the loaner on their dime.

I have two active offers of 11k over what I paid that I could collect on tonight but I like the car and its MINE so i am keeping it.

Who the fuck is so lazy and stupid they would sell a car at a loss because they couldnt change a driveshaft? *Michael Jackson* Thats just ignorant. You're ignorant.

        • Did you pull the shaft to check the bearing and bushing?

I was informed not to remove anything at this point. Head dealer is trying to get it so they can just replace anything they see wrong. But the damage is kinda obvious. Previous page video and you can see the CV flange is ovaled. At speed it moves the carrier bearing to full limits up and down.

            • I see it now. I must have missed the embed when I was reading last night.

I wonder how they did that to it?

              • I am sure it was dropped. Loking at their setup I would imagine a car lifts lip from 6'. Or a mounting bolt for the lift. Not really sure how otherwise.
Theyer is a clear 1/2" lomg gouge where the flattest spot is. It was dropped.

I wonder how many peeps they screw over with no knowledge of their vehicles. Anyways, hope it gets straightened out.

Normally I would but I had plans for the car. Remember (as stupid as it sounds) I really wanted one of these and in good shape they are $23,000. I would have spent $30,000 over 3 years doing all the mods it has and a nice stereo system. This has all the best of the best done AND is a particularly well cared for car.
My one worry was that the early cars are known to have torque convertor issues. I thought mine was a latter car but isn't and that was a worry as the converter itself is $1300. Turns out it had it all done in December as well.

The maintenance logs on this car are incredible.... and scary. Audi is expensive as fuck!

                            • Not a chance. I love this car and its near perfect.

Talked to the old owner today as I was going over the receipts.
She did purchase a warranty and she used the hell out of it. Car had over $14,000 in work last year. Valve cover gaskets, coolant sensors, alternator, timing belt, torque converter, blown shocks, oxygen sensors, sway links, EVAP system, clock spring, front axles, radiator, all power steering lines, turbo oil lines, brake pads and lots of little stuff.

I am very happy about that torque convertor as they were an issue in the earlier cars like mine and I was just waiting for when mine was gonna go knowing its a $4000 fix. Well mine has the upgraded one done and it only has 4k miles on it.

After the driveshaft the car will be a solid driver for at least a year or two.

Did all of that stuff break under warranty od did she somehow convince them to replace it while it was still good?
