Well me and my brother got it together easy enough. We "stitched" it together until I can get a new skin. Not pretty but will work.

And everybody keeps harping on maintenance. Yes they are more than a Ford Taurus to maintain IF you have to go to someone. Labor cost me nothing and I have nearly 100k in tools. The only expensive part is the brake pads and of course the trans which is why I have a spare. All the rest of the parts are the same cost as domestic crap.... well it does take more and expensive oil but small price to pay. Besides I will MAYBE put 5000 miles a year on it.

These Macs are very clean and accurate sounding but they sure aint very loud compared to my Mosconis. First amp is driving the 3-way fronts and the second one powers the sub and rears also active. I was trying to get some heat in them to make sure the fans work (they do) but the sub channel was maxed out. LOL

i was not harping on "maintenence", so much, as taking it in because of a check engine light, paying $1800 to get whatever it was fixed, so i could get the inspection done at the same time, driving out and 6 weeks later another check engine light. I'd just rock that bitch til the next year.

And you cant say you dont pay for labor, you already said you gotta pay $30/hour.

The first pic i posted of the tattoo is how serious the problem is. please be honest when you get your first one. or if you get something like this.

oh yeah you won't need a gold chain or matching jacket, but get you a flat billed one of these!

I am just paying $30 an hour so I can watch it be done first hand and learn all the tricks. Everything else I do myself. Well if I ever need to replace the front rotors I would toss my other tech $40 to put them together and lace the bolts. I hate running those lock wires.

And that picture is in dash test mode.

Just out of curiosity what was $1800? I know Audi places are all at least $110 an hour and most are like $150 and then they sell you the parts at full retail. I pay .30 on the dollar usually. My brakes are the only exception due to them being aftermarket.

And the fun continues! I was out playing with the car and having fun. Found the best way to launch it and its amazing how quick it moves off the line. C6 Corvette didnt expect that. LOL
So I drove it around a twisty bit, went down a street to turn around and as I went back on the main road I heard a terrible noise up front that almost sounded like a flat tire with a "whack whack whack". I pull over and cant see any issues at all. I notice that one of the rotor hats is a bit too clean on the edge and on closer inspection I see the brake pads edge is just kissing it. I guess 50% meat on these upgraded brakes is pretty much their "done" area. So after a bit of shopping confusion I just ordered some Hawks straight from Alcon for $200 which aint bad. Figured may as well do the rears as well and found the Bosch ceramics for $21. All in all thats a pretty cheap brake job. Now I have to figure out what kind of socket thats needed for those Alcon calipers pad bolts. Strange pattern.

I need to slow my roll with this car. LOL Seeing the brake issue last night I jumped the gun and ordered pads. It was still bothering me though so I just put the car in the air and pulled the brakes. Thats when I noticed the 1mm spacer washer was put on the wrong damn side! Moved it to the proper side and walla! Perfect brakes again.

I don't see the difference. Where did the washer go?

Look where the pads backing plate sits over the rotors hat.

All updated, fixed the fuse and repaired the display in the mirror. Works like a champ. Still need one more laser splitter as one of my front ones are broken and the rear one is just gone. Found the plug but no sensor.

Mac's are about accuracy and quality. That's not really surprising to hear. I've owned many of their home systems, but never a car amp.

Well shes becoming a member of the family real quick. Spent every day of my 3 day weekend doing updates and repairs. Fixed her brakes, found the fuel leak (level sender hat gasket), ordered the output shaft seal, installed all new hubcaps, had it tinted (what ya think), replaced the center console lid (NIB $13), repaired the bad ass Escort 9500ci radar detector with scramblers, removed the ski pass box to help the bass and got the USB and bluetooth working. Don't mind the dirt, she needs another bath. Waco is so dirty and its been 5 days anyway. LOL
