Interesting, just exchanging stories. Typically cold waters is good for slabs/dead sticking, but I've had shit luck doing it myself. I usually have better luck when warmer waters trolling and/or live bait (which is a bitch with shad).

Late spring would fall under that, but I've had good luck with the bait. Exception being, if he is finding them top water feeding.
