I have the Pioneer AVHX2700BS in my VW and have been very pleased with it.
It has Nav through your phone using the Pioneer AppRadio One app
Has phone function so can make/receive calls through it.
It is under $300, [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVHX2700BS-BLUETOOTH-MIXTRAX-Receiver/dp/B00O8B7BCW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435319181&sr=8-1&keywords=pioneer+avhx2700bs[/ame]

How easy is it on this one to bypass so dvds can play while moving?

Kenwood has two Android Auto and Carplay units. Just became available a few days ago.
IMO, Alpine has the best sounding bluetooth for phone calls. The APTX Bluetooth streaming on Kenwood sounds pretty good. Clarion is not out of business. idatalink maestro has a mustang specific dash kit that incorporates lots of factory info and fits standard 2 DIN decks. http://maestro.idatalink.com/accesso...product_id/285

My main thing is I want blue tooth, but I also really like the idea of a front USB port.
EW, is that Kenwood you mentioned good? What would you recommend?
Most radios have the ability to retain steering wheel controls but you have to add an interface. Some interfaces can make each button do two functions. some are way easier to program than others.

No steering wheel controls, so that doesn't matter.
The DDX672BH has 5 eq bands, whereas the Pioneer AVH-X4700BS has 13. May not really matter, but that is something I noticed.
This is why I said under $300 for a HU, because I knew I would go over whatever budget I set for myself.

Everything showed up on Wednesday and I got it all installed Thursday evening.
I'm pretty happy with this unit. I leave bluetooth activated on my phone and when I get in the car and start it up, the unit automatically syncs and starts playing music from my phone. Lots of little things that can be done with it; still reading through all of the functions.
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive upgrade.
