We have a 60" and sit about 15' away (room is 17' wall to wall, but factoring in the couch and tv's distance from the wall). I think it is a good size for that distance, but would not complain if it were 65" - 70".

At only 10' away, that 70" may seem pretty big. That said, I am sure that you will get used to it quickly, and I don't think I have ever heard someone say "I wish I bought a smaller TV."

Not the best pic, but it was all that I had handy..

We sit about 15' away with a 60" and it's too small. The theater has a 120" at 12' and it's a touch big, but I like it for the purpose of a theater.

          It's a double-don unit.

I've heard you should be at least 3x as far from the TV's size.

Mine's a 73", and it never seemed too big. It's tough to go too big.

That said, I've never been a fan of TVs mounted so high, unless it's a room you'll be standing up in all of the time. Eye level is ideal.

Too big, and TV should never, ever be mentioned in the same sentence.

Ive been slumming it with a 42" for the last 8 years. Next house is getting a projector to light up a whole damn wall.

Until Lea moved in I was rocking a 19" tube TV. Of course, I rarely watched it. Had no cable, working off rabbit ears, and a bunch of VHS tapes.

I have a 60" in the den and it's about 9-10' to where I sit on the couch. It is perfect for viewing but looks small on the wall as the ceilings are super high and the room is open to the kitchen and breakfast nook. We had a 50" (now in the bedroom). I'm not going any bigger as we have a projector upstairs.

Just measured and we sit 16 feet away - 65" seems perfect to me.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
