Actually already have most of the trim work done. It will look awesome once its painted. Doing big crown molding around the living room and tying it all in together. The mount is all the way back against the wall now too. Post pics of finished product in a few weeks when my wife paints it all!

We are going to test it for a week and be sure we like it there. If we do then mount up the soundbar and trim out the board..of course there was no rafter in the center of the fireplace....

People just think all tvs get hot like plasmas. Led's run cool.

They could have just left an area in the back, with some invisible side venting installed on the side of the fireplace. Doubt they did that though. Not sure how much venting that TV needs

You should try the new wireless mount. Literally the TV is held in place by wireless signals. SVO invented it.

Viewing angle is slightly above what we are used to. Going to try it a week before permant mounting. If we do perm mount going to basically build a little bkx that power outlets, wireless hdmi receiver etc are hid in amd trim it out nice. No stud in center wherr tv needs to hang so had to run 2x8 between two. Mount is so large went all way across 2x8.
