    Well....new family member

    Get a call that this emaciated Pit mix with a wound to the back leg is going to be put down last night if she doesn't get adopted. I leave work early pick up our current dog and book it to the shelter.

    We get there and they don't know if she's still alive...Gf and volunteers look for an hour for her. Saddest thing ever seeing so many pups in cages. She comes out balling but they found he her. We do a meet and greet with her and she's shy and timid. Barely can walk on a leash without being drug along to keep going. I let her sniff me and pet her for a few seconds and she lays her head on me
    "Well shit...I have a new dog..."

    Everyone meet Luna. She's unknown age, severely underweight pit terrier mix.

    This is her at the shelter looking terrified...I couldn't get her to walk to the car. Had to carry her.


    Trip to Petsmart, some love at home, and play time with our Weim and she's a tail wagging puppy who keeps crawling into bed.

          You sir have done a good deed. She'll be fat and happy now. Can't stand going into a shelter or pound knowing they will be gone soon if we dont take them

            Cute pup. My dog was afraid to go on a walk when I first got her too. I found that bringing a chicken sandwich convinced her going for a walk was a good thing.

            Now see if you can rescue a lawn mower.

              Lawn guy (teenager of family friend) was supposed to come Tuesday...obviously he didn't make it. Told him it better be done by Friday I don't care if it's wet or not.

                Rescues often make the best dogs. Our male dog was found alone in a field. A client brought him to my fiance's vet clinic. We adopted him the next day. He has been a great dog!

                      looks like my old dog clyde.. He was hands down the best dog I ever had until last year when the cancer took him a couple years early.. your dog has a lot of the same faces.. I bet you wont regret the rescue!

                        You did a good thing. She will make a good dog. Also, she would be a good country dog that could take care of herself with varmints. Take good care of her.

                          Just got back from the vet...the GF was a nanny a few years back and ended up the Vet at the clinic we went to was the mom of the kid she nannied's friend.

                          Discounted Vet services, some freebies and waived "exam" fee. Woot. She's apparently a 2 year old Petite Pit Bull. She's around 20% underweight (28 lbs currently vs. healthy weight of 35). Wound is healing well she said, to keep her from licking it but it's not able to be sutured at this point. She may have been a "bait" dog in the past, all her bites are on her back legs though for the most part.
