That's reason enough. He started to get surrounded and outnumbered. ALWAYS maintain control of the scene. I drew down each and every time we had a felony stop. Only one time was the other person armed.

So possibly being beaten to death by an angry mob is not enough to pull your gun?

You don't pull it unless you're gonna use it and it's not worth taking someone's life over imo.

The main point trying to be expressed is corporal ballsack needs to work on his approach. Most likely if he would have maintained a more professional stance on the whole thing may not have gone down like that.

          • He could have just stayed in his car, got on the bullhorn until back up arrived.

That's not true. Pulling it out to prevent further escalation is good enough for me.

You mean screaming obscenities at a bunch of kids isn't conducive to getting them to hang around? Sounds crazy.

                    • Out of the whole scene, that's the only gig I have on the LEO. I get it, he was amp'ed up, but maintain that language a little and it takes away ammo from the community of people that want to blame the cops for everything and not take any personal responsibility.

I would love to see someone's parents out of that group say something like...."Yeah, my kid screwed up and is paying dearly for it at home. He/she will apologize and work to attempt to fix what he/she screwed up - even if it was the group she was with - she was a part of it. However, that LEO did XYZ that I do not agree with...etc...etc."

Don't think we'll see that though.

Edit: I'm not FTP, but I'm not a fan of how law enforcement is going now. However, as of now I never want to blame all cops for what is policy and/or some rotten apples. With that said, I don't trust any when I see them due to the reputation.

They also carry non lethal weapons for that.

And this is why we have these savages pushing the envelope.

Right, so don't pull weapon and let a mob jump you, beat you down, and take your weapon or wait until 3 or 4 swarm you before drawing weapon. Makes sense to me. If I feel threatened, the weapon is leaving the holster. If you keep coming, it's going up and at you for another warning. If you keep coming aggressively, God speed.

I don't disagree with either of those. I still place more blame on the teenagers than the officer, though.

My daughter would have had her ass whipped up and down the street regardless of what the cop did.

1 shot from a tazer and then what -- swarmed by 4 or 5 more while reloading?
