It would take maybe 3 of these battery packs to properly replace electrical supply, and even at that...without it linking to a solar or wind system, you're better off with a generator.
Sean, to answer your question, if you used this with only electrical supply from the grid, it would be less efficient than just using straight power. Thus...the electrical company will win.Comment

You can try to game that...but they're only 2kwh rated for continuous use so it'll never work as a stand alone system. You'd need at least 3 in tx, most likely more. Backup power supply for power outages during storms and such is really all it is good for right now. But for that it seems like I really good idea instead of dicking around with generator, fuel, maintenance, etc. I wouldn't mess with the powerwall if I was trying to get myself off grid, though.
