  • The type of cop everyone hates

I've met this guy. He gave me a ticket last year. I was speeding, so I deserved it I suppose. I know his brother, who is actually a pretty cool individual. And whadaya know, he dislikes this guy and said he generally doesn't talk to him. Just read some of the comments from some of the people that know him.

Also I'd like to get kingjason to weigh in on this. How he would have handled it. I think we know trublue would have just tazed before he even talked to the guy.

I laughed harder than I should have when he got zapped.

I don't know. You jump out of the truck/car whatever as the officer is approaching you, and this is after an incident (not just speeding, but allegedly hit and run, and then not stopping in a timely fashion), I would be on high alert. You're out of chances at that point. I tell you to put your hands on the truck and you answer "for what?"... the police have a hard job to do, but negotiating with people already disregarding your authority will get you dead one day. I didn't watch past where he said "you do now" when the guy was on the ground, so if there was force after that, I might get on board with "cop is a dick".

I'm not seeing anything too over-the-top on a felony stop. Hell, the guy even admitted that he was involved in the vehicle accident where he left the scene.

Agreed. Boy had to be stupid to hop out of the truck like that.

Yup, if he pulls over right away and gives his version, he might not get tazed or arrested on a felony evading. Though it sounds like he is lying, cops hear that shit all day, errday.

I may talk shit about cops, especially the Plano Police Department (FUCK THEM BASTARDS!) but in my many years of hundreds of times of being pulled over, I have never been beatin, tazed, hit in the noggin with an ASP/Baton. I pull over ASAP, give them my paperz and I take my ticket and roll down the road. I do pull a Smokey and start talking mad shit as I'm driving away tho...

just watched the rest of it, and if the arresting officer was anything, he was almost courteous after he had the situation under control. Patching in extra cuffs so the guy wouldn't be so hemmed up? Picking him up off the ground and letting him sit on the edge of his tailgate? A dick move might be to lay you across a hot cruiser hood or leave you face down. The tazing was bought and paid for.

And he was fully explaining himself the whole time, even telling him he was about to taze him.

Yup, he was being a hard ass until the voltage kicked in, then he was all cooperative and shit!

                        Too late, Playa.

The cop let his emotions takeover a little bit, but I wouldn't say too over the top given the circumstances.

Meh, I think it was handled pretty fairly.

Hit and run, and it took a bit to get him to pull over. I'd be on edge too as the cop. Then to have that big ole boy hop out and get mouthy immediately would give me enough cause to want to drop him.

The ONLY thing I could say is that after telling him he was about to get tazed, he could have paused a moment longer to see if the guy would comply before popping him.
