A few months back I went to Amarillo to visit family. When I was up their I wanted to take some pictures. So one day I broke away and went by cadillac ranch. I always like going their. I pulled a chunk of paint off one of the cars and did a macro picture of the layers. This would be cool to turn into something like that.

I believe the paint from CR are latex type house paint and not very durable as far as polishing and cutting. On the other hand the Fordite is alkyd enamel and is durable. Not sure if they have it in size to do hand grips, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

There's some do it yourself stuff called micarta. It involves using cloth or paper and soaking it in resin. It can give a layered look depending on what material you use. I've seen it used for knife handles.

Well that's a game changer, I thought people were using house paint. If that's the case it probably can be done. Might be even cooler since they use all kinds of colors and you can probably flake it off in sheets. All might not be lost Yale.
