My opinion on this matter.

Every single picture I have seen, even the doctored ones to alter shading and supposedly give it a more realistic look, the "black" part is gold for me. Every time. Now I have seem some lighting changes that made it the white portion turn a blueish color. So it is either white and gold, or blue and gold from what I have seen. Instead of changing the one photo, we need several pics of it in different lighting situations.

It doesn't interest you that two different people can look at the same exact picture and see two completely different sets of colors? To the point where they think the other person is actually crazy for seeing it the other way? I find it fascinating. It actually changed colors as I looked at it. It is an interesting phenomenon.

It really doesn't matter what it is in real life. The lighting is so FUBAR that there's no way it represents the real color.

Edit: it also depends on context. If your brain is interpreting it as being in shadow, then it's white/gold. If your brain interprets it as under exposed (even though the background is over exposed), then it's blue/black. If you think about it this way, you can switch your perception back and forth.

It's a mind fuck. When initially opening the thread it was white/gold. Opened it again and it was black/blue. Now looking at it again it's a blue/tan.
