That is what I would do, stay in my vehicle with my hands at ten and two and refuse to make eye contact. Dumbass.
Wow, so out of context it's just awful.
She wasn't being a vigilante handling a criminal in a police chase. After all, how could she when through her own admission she was not aware he was running from police.

He could not have possible said what she claims before she bolted to his door, and shoved him in to it, then started fighting.

No one said she should have sat there with her finger in her ass. If she was worried about her safety or the child's, maybe she should have actually checked on him before going all ghetto on someone. Her actions make her ghetto/hood, not her location or speech.

I have no sympathy for the guy in the challenger, and I'm glad he got his ass beat, but pretending this maniac of a woman is a hero or was in the right for her situation is just plain dumb. She was acting out of anger and hatred, unaware of anything else. She claims to have been concerned about her child, but does she even address the fact that he could have been hurt or injured? No, she immediately begins he crusade of revenge and assault.

tl;dr, chase drive got what he deserved, but the mother is not a hero or in the right for anything she did either.

Where it all started regarding videoing police chases:

Many press agencies are given receive only handsets for monitoring dispatch and regular patrol traffic, but no generally speaking nobody outside of the PD has a radio that will talk back to their system.

How ours works is that the pilot (not a commissioned police officer) has radio contact with other aircraft. The observer (a commissioned police officer) has radio communication with police ground units. This observer also operates the FLIR/Camera system.

If the police air unit isn't in the air, the ground police units don't have a clue what is going on from a bird's eye view.
