What if they have you in a sweet armbar hold?

A Florida man thought he was acting heroically, but as it turns out, he jumped the gun.

Michael Foster, 43, thought the worst when he spotted a man walking into a Walmart with a handgun holstered under his coat.

As you can see from the store's video above, Foster tackled the man from behind and put him in a chokehold.

According to a witness, 62-year-old Clarence Daniels pleaded with Foster to let him go, telling him he had a license to carry the weapon.

When police arrived, they confirmed that Daniels did have a permit to carry the gun, and Foster was arrested on a count of battery.

Police advise concerned citizens to call law enforcement, not take matters into their own hands.

I'm not so sure about this idea.... every time that happens, innocent people tend to get dead.

Why not just leave the man alone? He was no threat...

Now if he pulls the weapon out and starts shooting, then be all hero.

Now if he appears to be in a good state of mind and constantly saying it is legal and he has a license etc...i will prob disarm him where he is not a threat and wait for police from there...not hold him down...guy should have been arrested for assault

Michael Foster is probably going to be a very broke mofo in short order.

CHL is a joke. Needs to be open carry. None of this would be an issue of imprinting/accidentally seeing the gun

And we have a winner. Too bad the old guy didn't put 1 in the moron's chest.

Printing isn't a crime, at least in Texas. Intentionally breaking concealment, however, is.

I don't the legal specifics on that in Florida, however.

And I agree, though, that the old man would've been justified in shooting his attacker in this case.

Old guy didn't appear to be in hunter/killer mode, he was just strolling into Wal-Mart calm as could be.

I sure hope some assault charges are brought to bear on the "heroes".

For all the "good Samaritan" knew, the guy could have been a detective, off duty cop or something. If I were in that position alerting store security and /or calling the fuzz would be the way to go.

Not saying I would do that per say as a knee jerk reaction, but if there were a reason to suspect something is a foul that alerting store security or call 911 is the way to go. Not taking law into your hands.
